Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993

Proposed Trunk Road T4 (Beech Hill to Cloghogue) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005

This notice supersedes that published in this newspaper on 28 January 2005

Notice is hereby given that the Department for Regional Development, under the provisions of Article 130 of and Schedule 8 to the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, has appointed Mr John Mageean as Inspector and Mr Kevin Chambers as an additional inspector to assist Mr Mageean to hold an Inquiry into the Department’s proposal to make an Order under Articles 14 and 68 of the said Order. The Order would direct that 12.1 kilometres of proposed new road from immediately south of Beech Hill Road Junction, to a point 580 metres south of the existing Cloghogue Junction would become part of the Lisburn-Newry-Land Frontier Trunk Road T4 and that parts of the present Trunk Road T4 would cease to be trunk road. The Order would also provide for the stopping-up and abandonment of certain associated roads and revoke The Sprucefield-Newry-Land Frontier Trunk Road (Tinker Hill) Order (Northern Ireland) 1972 and The Sprucefield-Newry-Land Frontier Trunk Road (Sheep Bridge) Order (Northern Ireland) 1974, the provisions of which are superseded by this Order.

The inquiry will be held in the Kilmorey Suite, Mourne Country Hotel, Newry commencing at 10.30 am on 19 April 2005 and continuing on such other days as may be determined by the Inspector appointed to conduct the proceedings.

All persons interested in the proposed Order and such other persons as the person appointed to hold the inquiry in his discretion thinks fit to allow, may attend and be heard.

Details of the Department’s proposal are contained in the draft Order which together with a map showing the roads involved may be inspected free of charge during office hours, until the commencement of the inquiry, at Southern Division, Marlborough House, Central Way, Craigavon BT64 1AD.
