ROAD SAFETY AND VEHICLE STANDARDS DIVISION

The Department of the Environment has approved on 14th March 2003 the device known as the Lion Alcolmeter SL-400B, manufactured by Lion Laboratories Limited, as a type of device for the purpose of obtaining a specimen of breath for the purpose of Article 13(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995. This approval takes effect from 24th March 2003.

Approval is given by virtue of the power contained in Article 13(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995, Section 95 of, and paragraph 11(2) of Schedule 12 to, the Northern Ireland Act 1998, and Section 1 of, and paragraph 4(1)(b) of the Schedule to, the Northern Ireland Act 2000.
