THE HACKNEY (PRESCRIBED ROUTES AND 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (AMENDMENT NO.***) ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Hackney proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
The general effect of the Orders will be as follows;
Nile Street (between Britannia Walk and Provost Street)
a) North side starting from western building line of property No 41 Provost Street extending eastward for a distance of 20m - Remove existing single yellow line, No waiting, Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 6:30 pm restrictions and replaced it with double yellow lines and double kerb blips, no waiting or loading “at any time” restrictions.
b) South side starting from a point 26m east of the junction with Britannia Walk extending eastward for a distance of 18.80m - Remove existing permit holders parking spaces and replace it with double yellow lines, no waiting or loading “at any time” restrictions.
c) Both sides (between Britannia Walk and Provost Street) - Replace the existing double yellow lines, no waiting “at any time” restrictions with double yellow lines and double kerb blips, no waiting or loading “at any time” restrictions.
d) Introduce a prohibition of driving 26.25m east of its junction with Britannia Walk with exemptions for any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, LBH waste services vehicles and Pedal cycles.
e) Revoke existing prohibition of driving 3.5m west from the junction with Provost Street for a total length of 7.m.
f) Introduce a prohibition of driving to start at the junction with Provost Street with exemptions for any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, LBH waste services vehicles and Pedal cycles.

Alternatively, such documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, in the visitor’s reception area, London Borough of Hackney, Hackney Service Centre, 1 Hillman Street, London, E8 1DY by appointment only.
3. Any objections or other representations about either of the Orders should be sent in writing to Streetscene – Networks Team at the address specified in paragraph 2 above or emailed to streetscene.consultations@hackney.gov.uk within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
