Whereas, if the England men’s football team win the FIFA World Cup in the year 2026, to mark the achievement, We consider it desirable that Friday the twenty-fourth day of July in the year 2026 should be a bank holiday in England:

Now, therefore, We in pursuance of section 1(3) of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971, do hereby appoint Friday the twenty-fourth day of July in the year 2026 to be a bank holiday in England, if the England men’s football team win the FIFA World Cup in the year 2026.

Given at Our Court at Buckingham Palace, this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-six in the fourth year of Our Reign.
