NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Company Limited (Company No.09346363) intends to make the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A66 Trunk Road in the Unity Authority of Westmorland and Furness, in the County of Cumbria.

The effect of the Order, if made as proposed, would be to prohibit all vehicles from turn right from the A66 Trunk Road westbound carriageway at the western kerb nosing of the Osprey Layby taper.

A copy of the Order and Notice, together with a Plan and a Statement of Reasons may be obtained by visiting the Cockermouth Library, 88 Main Street, Cockermouth, Cumbria, CA13 9LU, or at the Keswick Library, 10 Heads Lane, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5HD, making reference to this notice.

Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director, National Highways, 100 Embankment, Cathedral Approach, Salford M3 7FB, making reference to this Notice, to be received no later than Monday 13 July 2026.

When submitting an objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
