CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE ‘CA-G’ – EXPERIMENTAL INTRODUCTION OF SATURDAY CONTROLS
THE CAMDEN (PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE ‘CA-G’) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Camden (‘the Council’) on 23 October 2025 have made the above Experimental Traffic Order under sections 9, 10 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the 1984 Act’), as amended.
2. The general nature and effect of the Order, which will come into force on 01 November 2025, will be to introduce Saturday controls between 8.30am and 1.30pm on an experimental basis:-
(a) on single yellow line ‘controlled hours’ waiting restrictions in the roads within the Regents Park area of CA-G Controlled Parking Zone (‘CPZ’) listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice; the hours of operation of the waiting restrictions will be between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays;
(b) in paid-for parking places or CA-G permit holders parking places and on single yellow line ‘controlled hours’ waiting restrictions in the roads within the Somers Town area of CA-G CPZ listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice; the hours of control of the parking places and hours of operation of the waiting restrictions will be between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays;
(c) in the CA-G permit holders / market traders ‘MKT’ permit holders parking places in Chalton Street, outside Nos. 77 to 85 Chalton Street and Clifton House, Chalton Street; the hours of operation of the parking places will be: (i) for CA-G resident permit holders, between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays; (ii) for MKT permit holders, between 8.30am and 11am on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive (these hours are unchanged); and (iii) for CA-G resident permit holders and MKT permit holders, between 11am and 6.30pm on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive (these hours are unchanged);
(d) in the shared-use (paid-for / market traders ‘MKT’ permit holders) parking place in Chalton Street, outside Nos. 46 to 58 Chalton Street; the hours of operation of the parking place will be: (i) for paid-for parking, between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays ; (ii) for MKT permit holders, between 8.30am and 3pm on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive (these hours are unchanged); and (iii) for MKT permit holders and paid-for parking, between 3pm and 6.30pm on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive (these hours are unchanged);
(e) in the paid-for parking places in Chalton Street, outside Nos. 1 to 55 Chalton Street; the hours of operation of the parking place will be between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 3pm and 6.30pm on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays;
(f) on the single yellow line waiting restrictions within the ‘MKT’ permit holders parking place in Chalton Street, outside Nos. 57 to 63 Chalton Street; the hours of operation of the waiting restrictions will be between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 4pm and 6.30pm on Wednesdays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays; and
(g) in the shared-use (paid-for / CA-G permit holders) parking place in Charrington Street, opposite Nos. 11 to 15 Charrington Street; the hours of operation of the parking place will be between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays.
3. Copies of the Order, which shall remain in force for up to 18 months and of other related documents indicating its effects, may be obtained by contacting traffic.orders@camden.gov.uk or inspected either: online at camden.gov.uk/recently-advertised-proposals or by prior appointment, in person at 5 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG during normal office hours.
4. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of Orders made under sections 6 and 45 of the 1984 Act. Any person may object to the making of Orders for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of six months, beginning from the date on which the Experimental Order came into force or, if the Experimental Orders are varied by a another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force. Any objection or representation must be in writing, quoting reference ‘TMO2526-0020’ and giving reasons for any objection and stating the grounds on which it is made, and sent to the e-mail address above or by post to ‘FREEPOST LBC TRANSPORT STRATEGY’, to be received by the end of 30 April 2026.
