THE LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of highway land (footway) abutting 267 – 269 East India Dock, E14

IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to accommodate the development described in schedule 2 of this notice as carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted on 5th November 2020 under reference PA/19/01838.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED at all reasonable office hours during 30 days commencing 30th January 2025 at the offices of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ and may be obtained free of charge from the above office (quoting reference: s247_2025/East India Dock/RR) or by email to highway.search@towerhamlets.gov.uk

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed order within the period of 30 days commencing 30th January 2025 by notice to the Highways Records Officer, LBTH Public Realm quoting the reference: s247_2025/East India Dock/RR in writing to highway.search@towerhamlets.gov.uk

In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

SCHEDULE (S) - “AREA OF HIGHWAY TO BE STOPPED UP”

1. The proposed stopping up area measures approximately 11.5 metres in width and 11.6 metres in length immediately abutting No 269 and spans the curved boundary of the development site to its junction with Follet Street measuring approximately 28 metres in length.

2. “Internal and external alterations to the existing residential units at no. 267 East India Dock Road and proposed erection of a 163-bedroom hotel (C1 use class) comprising of a part four, and part-eighteen storey building over basement, with associated roof top plant room, ground floor servicing, car and bike parking and landscaping.”
