THE BARNET (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO. **) TRAFFIC ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Section 6 and 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to prevent obstructive parking, improve traffic flow, sightlines and general road safety, the general effect of the Free Order would introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions opposite Christ Church, Oakleigh Road North N20.
As part of a junction improvement scheme involving the removal of a pedestrian island, the general effect of the Free order would remove lengths of ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions surrounding the pedestrian island site situated on Oakleigh Road North at the junction of Oakleigh Park North N20. In addition, existing lengths of ‘at any time’ restrictions on Oakleigh Road North at the junction of Oakleigh Park North N20 would be realigned in order to accommodate the new road layout.
In order to address concerns about speeding, and improve general road safety the general effect of the 20mph Speed Limit Order would be to:
Introduce a maximum speed limit of 20mph in the streets or length of streets specified below:
(a) Oakleigh Park North N20 – Between Oakleigh Road North and the junction with Athenaeum Road.
(b) Oakleigh Avenue N20 - Between Oakleigh Road North and the junction of Oakleigh Park South.
(c) Oakleigh Park South N20 - Between Oakleigh Road North and the common boundary of No.51 and No.53 Oakleigh Park South.
(d) Queens Avenue N20.
(e) Myddelton Park N20.
(f) Friern Barnet Lane N20 – Between High Road and the common boundary of No.155a and No.155 Friern Barnet Lane.
(g) Oakleigh Road North N20 – Between the common boundary of No.46 and No.50 Oakleigh Road North and the common boundary of No.185 and No.187 Oakleigh Road North.
A copy of the proposed Orders, associated plans of the relevant areas and the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 7th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.
