CITY OF WESTMINSTER COVENT GARDEN NEIGHBOURHOOD TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SCHEME
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, with the consent of the Council of the London Borough of Camden, on 26th May 2023 made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:
• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 83) Order 2023;,
• The City of Westminster (Loading Bays) (Amendment No. 51) Order 2023;
• The City of Westminster (Motorcycle Parking Places) (Amendment No. 135) Order 2023;
• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (G Zone) (Amendment No. 78) Order 2023;
• The City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. 11) Traffic Order 2023; and
• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 508) Order 2023.
2. The Orders will continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the following experimental Orders insofar as they affect roads or lengths of roads within the City of Westminster:
• The Camden and City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2021;
• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 2) Experimental Order 2021;
• The City of Westminster (Loading Bays) (No. 2) Experimental Order 2021;
• The City of Westminster (Motorcycle Parking Places) (No. 1) Experimental Order 2021;
• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (G Zone) (No. 2) Experimental Order 2021; and
• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No. 3) Experimental Order 2021.
3. The general effect of the Orders will be to continue in force indefinitely the amendments to permitted vehicle movements, parking provisions, and waiting and loading restrictions introduced under the experimental Covent Garden Traffic Management Scheme on 8th December 2021, as set out in the Schedule to this Notice.
4. The Orders, which will come into force on 5th June 2023, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 7th July 2023 at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except bank / public holidays). 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
