CHANGE FROM ADVISORY TO DESIGNATED DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES AND AMENDMENT OF ADJACENT PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS (BATCH 12B)

THE WALTHAM FOREST (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 144) ORDER 2022

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest on 14th October 2022 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be:

(a) to provide a designated disabled persons parking place measuring 6.6 metres in length (unless otherwise specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice) in each of the locations specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in most cases replacing advisory disabled persons parking places, on the carriageway, footway or both;

(b) where any made designated disabled persons parking place referred to in sub-paragraph (a) above is longer than the advisory disabled persons parking place it is replacing or where there is no existing advisory disabled persons parking place in the made location, to shorten or remove any existing parking place or waiting restriction in that location by the length necessary to provide the disabled persons parking place;

(c) to remove either advisory or formalised disabled person’s parking place in each of the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice and either extend existing permit parking space or adjacent waiting restrictions bordering such disabled parking space by the length necessary in place of the disabled persons parking place;

(d) to:

i. convert 6.6 metres of Free Short Stay parking space outside Nos. 108 to 110 CAN and relocate a disabled persons’ parking place situated outside Nos. 102 and 104 Cann Hall Road (CAN) to this location; and

ii. relocate the displaced Free Short Stay parking space situated outside Nos, 108 to 110 CAN to outside Nos. 102 to 104 Cann Hall Road.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation from 17th October 2022 and all other relevant documents can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from that date on request by either emailing traffic.scheme@walthamforest.gov.uk or visiting (*by appointment) the Highways and Traffic Management office, Low Hall. Argall Avenue E10 7AS during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; or alternatively documents can be viewed online at: https://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/content/road-traffic-schemes-and-consultations.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the making of the Orders, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
