NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No.09346363) has made the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A590 Trunk Road, in the District of South Lakeland, in the County of Cumbria.

The effect of the Order, if made, would be to impose a 40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:

i. the eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the Seg Lane Junction, to a point 127 metres east of the splitter island leading from the new cross a moor Roundabout on the eastern side;

ii. the entire carriageway comprising the new Cross-a-Moor Roundabout;

iii. the northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads leading to and from the back of the splitter island at the new Cross-a-Moor Roundabout.

The effect of the Order, is described in the London Gazette dated 27 June 2022 (Issue Number 63743).

This Order, if made, will revoke and replace the existing 30 and 40 miles per hour speed limits, together with any and all other speed limit orders affecting the lengths of carriageway described above.

The speed limits will not apply to any vehicle being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue authority, or ambulance services, or to special-forces vehicles.
