THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (BANNED TURNS AND PROHIBITIONS) (VARIOUS ROADS) EXPERIMENTAL AMENDMENT NO.1 ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under Sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Order.
The general effect of this Order will be to continue indefinitely the provisions of the experimental traffic orders listed in the heading to this Notice, to:
1. Introduce a prohibition of Left Turn except Buses, Taxis and Cycles restriction from Salisbury Avenue in to Station Parade.
2. Introduce a prohibition of Right Turn except Buses, Taxis and Cycles restriction from Wakering Road in to Station Parade.
3. Introduce a No Entry Except Buses, Taxis and Cycles restriction for vehicles travelling westbound on Longbridge Road into Station Parade.
4. Introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles Except Buses, Taxis and Cycles Only restriction on Station Parade, both sides, from a point east of the access to Vicarage Field Car Park to its junction with Salisbury Avenue.
5. Revoke the existing 7.5T Heavy Goods Vehicle weight restriction on Station Parade.
6. Introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles Except Buses, Taxis and Cycles Only restriction for vehicles travelling westbound on Longbridge Road from the roundabout to its junction with Station Parade.
A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 17 June 2022, and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published on the Councils website by visiting the following web page https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court.
