Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Hounslow, in pursuance of Powers under section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (as amended), has designated 2 extensions to the following Conservation Areas: Hanworth Park and Turnham Green.

Hanworth Park inclusion within the conservation area boundary of parts of Hanworth Park as shown on maps available on the council website including Hanworth Park House, Eddies Social Club, Feltham Rugby Club & Pavilion 2; the section of Elizabeth Way between Moatside and Queens Way.

Turnham Green inclusion with the conservation area boundary of 458-496 Chiswick High Road (even), 79 Chiswick High Road, 45-136 Barrowgate Road, 42-20 & 8-4 Ellesmere Road, 1-3 Park Close, 24-52 (even) Sutton Court Road, 14 Duke Road, and all properties on: Hadley Gardens, Foster Road, Wavendon Avenue, Alwyn Avenue, Sharon Road, Garth Road, Garth Court, Ellesmere Court, Park Road North, Bourne Place, Dukes Avenue.

The objective of designation is to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of areas of special architectural or historical interest, as distinct from individual buildings, to control developments in such areas and to stimulate and encourage measures to improve the environment. The primary effects of the conservation area status are that demolition of buildings is brought within the Councils control and consent must first be sought from the planning authority: and that it becomes an offence to cut down, lop or carry out any other works to certain trees within the area without proper consent from the planning authority, and that planning applications for development which, in the opinion of the planning authority, would affect the character or appearance of the conservation area, must be advertised.
