THE NEWHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2020

THE NEWHAM (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 159) ORDER 2020

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham on 30 November 2020 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of the Orders will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the following experimental Orders:

(a) in relation to Browning Road, the Newham (Prescribed Route) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2019 which came into force on 29 July 2019 (as modified with effect from 19 August 2019); and

(b) in relation to Rixsen Road, Stanley Road and Warwick Road E12, the Newham (Prescribed Routes) (No. 2) Experimental Traffic Order 2019 and the Newham (Warwick Road, Stanley Road and Rixsen Road) (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Experimental Traffic Order 2019 which both came into force on 24 August 2019.

3. The above experimental Orders introduced:

(a) a prohibition of vehicles proceeding in a southerly direction from entering Browning Road at its junction with Rectory Road, except for buses; taxis; pedal cycles; A1 access permit holders, refuse collection vehicles and certain other vehicles in certain circumstances;

(b) in Warwick Road E12, between Bluebell Avenue and Rixsen Road, the reversal of one-way working for vehicles from west to east, so that it operated from east to west;

(c) in Stanley Road, the reversal of one-way working for vehicles from east to west, so that it operated from west to east;

(d) no waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) in:

(i) Warwick Road E12, between High Street North and Rixsen Road (and for 10 metres into adjacent Rixsen Road); and

(ii) Stanley Road and Rixsen Road, for 10 metres in all directions at the junction.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 7 December 2020, and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection by telephoning 020 3373 6415 or emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.

5. If any person wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
