The Department for Communities has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Local Government (Account and Audit) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020”, (S.R. 2020 No. 120), which comes into operation on 30 June 2020.

The Statutory Rule will extend the deadlines for councils to certify and publish their annual accounts and supporting documents in relation to the financial year beginning on 1 April 2019.
