CITY OF WESTMINSTER

PROPOSED CITYWIDE 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT

THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from exceeding 20 mph on all roads within the City of Westminster. The proposed Order would not apply to roads on the TLRN (Transport for London Road Network), which are subject to speed limits set by TfL.

3. Please note that the following Orders, which impose a 20 mph speed limit on certain roads in the City of Westminster, would be revoked and re-enacted by the proposed Order:

(a) The City of Westminster (Speed Limit) (No.1) Order 2011; and

(b) The City of Westminster (Speed Limit) (No.1) Traffic Order 2019.

4. The proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at http://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices. Please note that documents will not be available for inspection in person until further notice.

6. Any objections or other representations about the proposal should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, WSP, Room 603, 52 Grosvenor Gardens, London, SW1W 0AU, or by email at tmo.westminster@wsp.com quoting reference 7589/AJ, by 1st July 2020. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
