THE ISLINGTON (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 4) TRAFFIC ORDER 2020

THE ISLINGTON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 5) ORDER 2020

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington on 21 May 2020, made the above mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) reduce the length of the shared use parking place on the north-west side of Charterhouse Square;

(b) amend the shared use parking place on the north-west side of Charterhouse Street outside Nos. 38 to 42 in line with changes to the footway and the creation of a lay-by;

(c) revoke the ‘No vehicles between 8 am and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays’ restriction in Fox and Knot Street and the northern arm of Charterhouse Street and introduce a ‘No vehicles at any time’ closure of Fox and Knot Street;

(d) extend the ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on the north-west side of the main carriageway of Charterhouse Street from the shared use parking place outside Nos. 38 to 42 to the junction with Charterhouse Square;

(e) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on the north-west side of Charterhouse Square from the junction with Charterhouse Street to the shared use parking place; and

(f) introduce ‘at any time’ loading restrictions on the north-west side of the main carriageway of Charterhouse Street from the shared use parking place outside Nos. 38 to 42 to the zig-zag markings of the zebra pedestrian crossing.

3. Copies of the Order, which will come into force on 26 May 2020, and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Public Realm, 1 Cottage Road, London N7 8TP. 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
