SCHOOL STREETS SCHEME – PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONES IN CANNON ROAD N14 AND TILE KILN LANE N13

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) propose to make the Enfield (Prescribed Routes)(No.*) Traffic Order 201* under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit motor vehicles from entering or leaving Cannon Road N14 and Tile Kiln Lane N13 during certain times of the day. The pedestrian and cycle zones would operate in:

(a)Cannon Road N14 at its junction with Cannon Hill N14 north-eastwards to its north-eastern extremity, between Monday to Friday 8.15 to 9.15 am and 2.45 to 4 pm; and

(b)Tile Kiln Lane N13, from a point 21.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Chequers Way N13 north-eastwards to its north-eastern extremity, between Monday to Friday 8.15 to 9.15 am and 2.30 to 4 pm.

3. All motor vehicles, except permit holders, would be prohibited from entering or leaving each Pedestrian and Cycle Zone during the hours specified in item 2 (a) and (b) above. Permits allowing vehicles to enter or leave each Pedestrian and Cycle Zone will be available to residents of addresses and the staff of schools listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice. N. B. disabled person’s badge holders who have a bona fide reason to enter or leave the Pedestrian and Cycle Zone, can make application to the Council for a permit;

Motor vehicles granted a valid permit displaying the letters:

(a) SS1 may enter or leave Cannon Road N14 during the hours of the Pedestrian and Cycle Zone; or

(b) SS2 may enter or leave Tile Kiln Lane N13 during the hours of the Pedestrian and Cycle Zone. As mentioned in paragraph 2 (a) and (b) above.

Other exemptions would apply to:

Emergency vehicles

Council Waste Service and street cleansing vehicles

Dial-a-Ride vehicles

Specific school staff vehicles

4. A copy of the proposed Order, of maps indicating the locations and effects of the proposed Order, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and any other relevant documents can be inspected at the Reception Desk, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

5. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order, or make any other representations in respect of it should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Transportation, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD, quoting the reference TG52/1425, by 11 December 2019 or by e-mail to traffic@enfield.gov.uk. 6. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may, upon written request, be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
