1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent (‘the Council’) propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the 'Electric Vehicle Charging Points' Order would be to introduce and electric vehicle charging point outside No. 505 Kingsland Road.

3. The general effect of the 'Disabled Persons Parking Places' Order would be to revoke and re-designate the existing parking place outside No. 511 Kingsbury Road make minor drafting amendments to conform with proposed on-site layout.

4. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places’ Order would be to consolidate the provisions of the ‘parent’ parking place Order designating pay, permit or shared-use parking places on streets in parking zone Y and to make updates by revoking and re-designating the existing pay, permit and shared-use parking places on Kingsbury Road as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

5. The general effect of the ‘Speed Limits’ Order would be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour in that length of Kingsbury Road which lies between a point opposite the westernmost building wall of No. 660 Kingsbury Road and the south-western kerb-line of Old Kenton Lane.

6. The general effect of the 'Waiting and Loading Restriction' Order would be to further amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that to make minor drafting amendments to the existing waiting and loading restrictions in Kingsbury Road to conform with the on-site layout as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

7. The Council has also approved proposals to install road humps, also known as ‘raised tables’ under section 90 A-F of the Highways Act 1980 in lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice. The road humps would be constructed to cover the full width of the carriageway and would be no higher than 75 millimetres at the highest point with 1:20 gradient ramps.

8. The Council has also approved proposals to provide zebra crossings under section 23 of the Road Traffic Act 1984 (by raising the crossings) in Kingsbury Road:-

(a) at a point 8.70 metres south-west of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 511 and 513 Kingsbury Road; and

(b) at a point 3.80 metres north-east of a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 453 and 455 Kingsbury Road.

The ‘controlled area’ in which waiting and loading is prohibited at all times, would apply on both the approach and exit sides of the crossing.

9. Copies of the proposed Orders, any Orders amending those Orders, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of maps which indicate each length of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

11. Persons desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Orders, or any of the proposals, should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof, via email to trafficorders@brent.gov.uk, or in the post to the Head of Highways and Infrastructure, Highways and Infrastructure Service, 5th Floor North Wing, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ, quoting the reference TO/12/253/NP, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
