NORTH YORKSHIRE LIEUTENANCY

NEW DEPUTY LIEUTENANTS APPOINTED FOR NORTH YORKSHIRE

With Her Majesty The Queen’s agreement, five new Deputy Lieutenants have been appointed by the Lord Lieutenant for North Yorkshire, Mrs Johanna Ropner. The role of The Lord Lieutenant is to be Her Majesty The Queen’s official representative in the County. Deputy Lieutenants assist the Lord Lieutenant in the fulfilment of duties across the County. North Yorkshire is the largest Lieutenancy area in the country. With the five new appointees, North Yorkshire will be served by 43 Deputy Lieutenants. The Deputy Lieutenants are spread geographically across the County and are drawn from differing backgrounds and disciplines. What is common to all officers of the Lieutenancy is a commitment to their communities, whether this be through the support of the voluntary sector or business community.

The five new appointees include three men and two women. They are listed alphabetically with a brief resume of their activities and achievements.
