THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 72) ORDER 2019

1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that on 24 January 2019 it has made the above orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. In the case of the cycle tracks order, under section 3 of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, as amended, following the procedure set out in the Cycle Tracks Regulations 1984.

2. The effects of the orders are:- (a) in EAST STREET, to amend the existing ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions (double yellow lines) on the south-west side of either side of its junction with Sedan Way; (b) in MARKHAM STREET, (i) to formalise four inset permit holders’ only parking places on the north-west side a total of 54m in length of additional parking in which vehicles, with a parking zone 'M1' permit only, may park without time limit between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm on Monday to Friday, and (ii) to introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on all parts that are public highway and not designated as parking; (c) in SEDAN WAY, (i) to formalise two inset permit holders’ only parking places on the south-west side a total of 18m in length of additional parking in which vehicles, with a parking zone 'M1' permit only, may park between the afore-mentioned times, (ii) to introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on all parts that are public highway and not designated as parking, and (iii) to formalise a car club only parking place on the south-west side (11.5m in length); (d) to shorten an existing cycle track, for the ‘shared-use’ of pedal cycles and pedestrians only, in the footway linking SEDAN WAY and ALVEY STREET; and (e) to introduce a two-way segregated cycle track, for the use of pedal cycles only, in the footway linking MARKHAM STREET and THURLOW STREET.

3. 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
