The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Road Races (Ulster Rally) Order (Northern Ireland) 2018", (S.R. 2018 No. 142), which comes into operation on 16th August 2018.

The effect of the rule is to permit the Northern Ireland Motor Club Limited as promoter of the Ulster Rally 2018 to use for that event certain roads by suspending the right of way of other traffic at various times on 17th and 18th August 2018.
