TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 251 of the above Act entitled "The Extinguishment of Public Rights of Way (North East) (No.20) Order 2018.

The Order extinguishes the whole of the network of highways bounded by Tyne Road East, Rose Street, Palmerston Walk and the north eastern boundary of the Teams Children’s Centre and an irregular shaped area of highway as leads off Tyne Road East at Gateshead in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead.

Copies of the Order and associated plan may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gsi.gov.uk (quoting reference NATTRAN/NE/S251/3243) and may be inspected during normal opening hours at Gateshead Council, Regent Street, Gateshead NE8 1HH.

The Order becomes operative on 22 June 2018. Any persons aggrieved by the Order wishing to question its validity (or the validity of any provision contained in it) on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Town and County Planning Act 1990, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act (or of any regulations made under it) has not been complied with in relation to the making of the Order may, under Section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, within six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice, may apply to the High Court for the Order to be quashed.
