THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (GORLESTON AND GREAT YARMOUTH, NORFOLK) (40 MILES PER HOUR AND 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 201_

Highways England Company Limited (a) gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A47 Trunk Road in Norfolk.

The effect of the Order on the A47 would be to impose a speed limit of –

1. 50 miles per hour –

1.1 from a point 770 metres northwest of its junction with the A149 Acle New Road/Runham Road (Vauxhall) Roundabout, Great Yarmouth to a point 40 metres north of its junction with Victoria Road Roundabout, Gorleston-on-Sea,

1.2 the circulatory carriageway of the A47/A149 Acle New Road/Runham Road (Vauxhall) Roundabout and the A47/William Adams Way (Harfreys) Roundabout, Great Yarmouth, and

2. 40 miles per hour from a point 40 metres north of its junction with Victoria Road Roundabout to a point 587 metres south of its junction with the Beaufort Way/Links Road Roundabout, Gorleston-on-Sea.

The A12 Trunk Road (Gorleston Relief Road) (40 Miles Per Hour and 50 Miles Per hour Speed Limit) Order 1999 and the A12 and A47 Trunk Roads (Vauxhall to Harfreys Roundabout, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2004 would be revoked by this Order.

A copy of the proposed Order, together with a location plan and a statement explaining Highways England’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected during normal office hours, between 26 January 2018 and 16 February 2018, at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF; Gorleston Library, Lowestoft Road, Gorleston, NR31 6SG; or obtained by application to Highways England, Operations Division, Orders Section, Woodlands, Manton Lane, Bedford, MK41 7LW.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should write to Highways England at the above address stating the reasons for the objection no later than 15 February 2018, or within 3 weeks of the date of this publication, whichever is the latest.
