The Secretary of State gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of the whole of the pedestrian subway and stairway beneath Milburngate Bridge including the whole of the unnamed footpath and stairway connecting to Milburngate Bridge at Durham in the City of Durham.

If made, the Order would authorise the stopping up only to enable development to be carried out should planning permission be granted by Durham County Council. The Secretary of State gives notice of the draft Order under Section 253 (1) of the 1990 Act.

Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Durham County Council, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL in the 28 days commencing on 25 January 2018, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the address stated below quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/3147.
