STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAY ADJACENT TO 17 MAYFIELD ROAD, BRAYTON – NOTICE OF RESCHEDULED HEARING

TAKE NOTICE that North Yorkshire County Council, being the highway authority for the County of North Yorkshire, intends to apply to the York Magistrates’ Court sitting at The Law Courts, Clifford Street, York YO1 9RE at 10.00 am on 27 February 2018 for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 to authorise the stopping up of a 1.85 metre area of (grassed) highway adjacent to 17 Mayfield Road, Brayton in the District of Selby, on the ground that it is unnecessary. The effect of the Order will be that the land in question ceases to be part of the highway (N.B. The Hearing date has been rescheduled from the original date of 5 December 2017 to enable Members of the County Council to consider objections received and decide whether to proceed to the Magistrates’ Court).

A plan and photograph showing the proposed area of highway to be stopped up have been deposited at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 4EQ and may be inspected there free of charge during normal office hours – further details of the proposal can be obtained by contacting Richard Pennell, Legal Officer (richard.pennell@northyorks.gov.uk or Tel: 01609 532869).
