WELLINGTON ROAD EN1 - INTRODUCTION OF NEW ZEBRA CROSSING

WELLINGTON ROAD EN1 – AMENDMENTS TO SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR MARKINGS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council has approved, under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the provision of a zebra crossing in Wellington Road EN1, outside Raglan School, Wellington Road EN2. The associated zig-zag markings would be placed adjacent to the crossing and between the points specified in the Schedule to this Notice and would prohibit all vehicles from stopping on them at all times.

2. FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN that it is proposed to amended the school keep clear markings to accommodate the proposed zebra crossing(Note: the amended school keep clear marking which would operate Monday to Friday 8.15 to 9.15am, 11.30am to 1.30pm and 2.45 to 4pm is depicted by the approved signs and road marking and it does not need to be implemented by way of a traffic order).

3. The location of the zebra crossing and associated zig-zag markings, of the amendments to the school keep clear markings, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing the zebra crossing and changes to the school keep clear markings and any other relevant documents can be inspected at the Reception Desk, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

4. Any person desiring to make representations in respect of the pedestrian crossing (including the zig-zag markings) or the changes to the school keep clear markings should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Transportation, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD, quoting the reference TG52/1374, by 14th February 2018.

5. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may, upon written request, be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
