THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 46A, 49, 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to effectively manage the kerbside space by deterring all-day commuter parking and improving resident parking opportunity, it is proposed to introduce a Controlled Parking Zone in Great Bushey Drive and Oak Tree Drive N20.

1. The general effect of the Charged for Parking Places Order would be to:

(a) introduce parking places for the use of residents and their visitors in Great Bushey Drive and Oak Tree Drive

(b) provide that the parking places referred to in (a) above would operate between 2pm and 3pm, Monday to Friday, during which motorists would be required to have a valid resident’s permit associated with their vehicle, or have a visitor voucher displayed in their vehicle, to be entitled to park in the parking places.

(c) Introduce a ‘pay by phone’ payment parking place in Great Bushey Drive.

(d) provide that the parking place referred to in (c) above would operate between 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, during which motorists would be required to pay the requisite tariff to be entitled to park in the parking place.

(e) introduce shared-use resident permit and ‘pay by phone’ payment parking (maximum stay 4 hours) in Great Bushey Drive and Oak Tree Drive.

(f) provide that the parking places referred to in (e) above would operate between 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, during which motorists would be required to have a valid resident’s permit associated with their vehicle, or have a visitor voucher displayed in their vehicle, or pay the requisite tariff to be entitled to park in the parking places.

(g) provide that residents residing in the range of addresses detailed in the Schedule to this notice would be eligible to obtain/purchase resident’s permits and vouchers which would enable that motorist to park their vehicle without limitation during the operational hours of the parking places referred to in (a) and (e) above.

(h) provide that vehicles displaying a valid disabled badge or motorcyclists would be able to park in the parking places referred to above during their operational periods without need to have a permit associated with their vehicle or a voucher displayed in their vehicle.

For the parking place referred to in (c) the following tariff would apply:

Up to 30 minutes: £0.65

Up to 1 hour: £1.30

Up to 2 hours: £2.60

Up to 4 hours: £3.25

Over 4 hours: £4.55

For the parking places referred to in (e) the following tariff would apply:

Up to 30 minutes: £0.65

Up to 1 hour: £1.30

Up to 2 hours: £2.60

Up to 4 hours: £3.25

2. The general effect of the Free Parking Places, Loading Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions Order would be to introduce waiting restrictions as follows:

(a) ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions along certain lengths of Great Bushey Drive

(b) Monday to Friday 2pm to 3pm waiting restrictions along certain lengths of Great Bushey Drive and Oak Tree Drive.

Loading would be permitted in parking places referred to in 1 above, and on waiting restrictions referred to in 2 above, for up to 40 minutes provided that the loading/unloading activity was seen to be actively taking place.

Permit and voucher charges are subject to review and change.

A copy of the proposed Orders, and associated plans of the relevant areas and the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published at:

b) Reception, Hendon Town Hall, The Burroughs, Hendon, London, NW4 4BG.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Orders should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments, and quoting reference number SCR201, to the Design Team at the above address, via the Barnet TraffWeb website or via email to parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
