HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 116 AND SCHEDULE 12

HAXEY ROAD, MISTERTON, IN THE DISTRICT OF BASSETLAW

The Nottinghamshire County Council, being the Highway Authority for the highway known as Haxey Road, near Misterton in the District of Bassetlaw, intends to apply to the Nottinghamshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at Mansfield Courthouse, Rosemary Street, Mansfield, NG19 6EE at 1000h on Friday, 16th February, 2018 for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising, in relation to land which is or previously was public carriageway highway: 1) the removal of any and all public highway rights from so much of that land as is both shaded and edged red on the deposited plan on the grounds that it is unnecessary; and 2) the removal of any and all public highway rights from so much of that land as is shaded red and edged blue on the deposited plan on the grounds that it is unnecessary, subject to the reservation of a public bridleway thereover on the grounds that a public right of way on foot and on horseback or leading a horse remains necessary.

A copy of the draft Order and Plan have been placed on deposit and may be inspected free of charge, until Friday, 16th February, 2018 inclusive (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) at: 1) Misterton Community Partnership Library located at High Street, Misterton, Doncaster, Nottinghamshire, DN10 4BU, between the hours of 2pm and 5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Saturdays; and at 2) Bassetlaw District Council’s offices located at Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH, between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm on Mondays to Thursdays and between 8:30am and 4:30pm on Fridays.

Any person to whom notice is required to be given, any person who uses the said highway, and any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order has a right to appear before and be heard by the Magistrates’ Court. Any person intending to exercise that right is requested to inform the undersigned in writing to the address below or via steven.eastwood.snr@nottscc.gov.uk quoting reference SJE/035855.
