AGAR STREET, CHANDOS PLACE AND WILLIAM IV STREET

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 8th January 2018 made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. 35) Order 2018;

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Police Vehicles) (Amendment No. 3) Order 2018;

• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (G Zone) (Amendment No. 49) Order 2018; and

• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 292) Order 2018.

2. The general effect of the Order will be, in the vicinity of Charing Cross Police Station, to:

(a) introduce four additional police vehicle parking bays on the south-west side of Agar Street (replacing two pay-by-phone bays and 10 metres of single yellow line waiting restrictions);

(b) introduce a shared-use parking place (6 spaces) outside Nos. 6 and 12 Agar Street (replacing 30 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions);

(c) introduce a residents’ parking space on the south-east side of William IV Street, adjacent to the pedestrianised junction with Strand (replacing 5 metres of “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions); and

(d) introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions:

• at the junction of William IV Street and Agar Street, in the vicinity of the vehicular entrance to Charing Cross Police Station (replacing 45 metres of single yellow line);

• outside No. 68 Chandos Place (replacing 11.5 metres of single yellow line); and

• on the south-west side of Chandos Place, adjacent to No. 6 Bedford Street (replacing a residents’ parking space).

3. The Orders, which will come into force on 17th January 2018, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 19th February 2018 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at WSP, Palace Gardens Suite, 27th Floor, Portland House, Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5RS.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
