1. Southwark Council hereby GIVES NOTICE that on 11 January 2018 it has made the above experimental orders under sections 6, 9, and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The effect of the experimental orders will be:-

(a) to designate a new loading bay in BEDALE STREET to facilitate deliveries to the Borough Market area;

(b) to reduce in length an existing loading bay in CATHEDRAL STREET, to aid traffic calming measures;

(c) to redefine 'at any time' waiting restrictions in CATHEDRAL STREET;

(d) to formalise the 'at any time' waiting restrictions in PARK STREET and WINCHESTER WALK; and

(e) to introduce loading restrictions between 10 am and 6 pm in BEDALE STREET, CATHEDRAL STREET, PARK STREET, REDCROSS WAY, STONEY STREET and WINCHESTER WALK.

5. The council will in due course be considering whether the provisions of the experimental orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent order made under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Anyone wishing to object to the making of the permanent orders or make any other representation regarding the scheme would have 6 months to do so, starting from the date the experimental orders come into force (or, if the order is varied by a subsequent order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, from the date that variation order or modification comes into force), may use the form labelled 'Parking - Road traffic and highway schemes - responding to statutory consultation notices' at https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=1081&np=1 or send a statement in writing to: the Traffic Orders Officer, Highways, Southwark Council, Environment, P.O. Please note that if you wish to object to the scheme you must state the grounds on which your objection is made.

6. When making an objection or representation, please be aware that this may be communicated to other people who may be affected. Information provided in response to this notice, including in some circumstances personal information, may also be subject to publication or disclosure under the requirements of current access to information legislation.

7. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the orders or of any provision therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
