LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Order under Sections 45, 46, 49,51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to promote reduced vehicle ownership and support the growing demand for the use of car clubs in the borough, the Council intends to, upon agreement with the relevant car club operators, allow ‘floating’ car club vehicles to park in certain parking on-street parking bays within the Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) in the borough.

The general effect of the Order would be to provide an exemption for those floating car club vehicles - subject to there being an agreement between the car club operator and the Council which would also include a payment mechanism for the application of the exemption - which would allow them to be parked within the following types of parking bay within the CPZs in the borough without need to display a specific permit.

• Resident permit parking places

• Permit holders only parking places

• Shared Use parking place (Permit holders/Payment parking)

• Payment parking places (Pay by phone)
