PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC SYSTEMS

IN GLENCAIRN ROAD AND HEPWORTH ROAD

[NOTE: This notice is about proposals to introduce one-way traffic systems for all vehicles, except pedal cycles, in parts of Glencairn Road and Hepworth Road. Objections or other comments may be made — see paragraph 6.)

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth proposes to make the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. -) Order 201- under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to introduce one-way traffic systems for all vehicles except pedal cycles, in:-

(a) the length of Glencairn Road which lies between its junction with Ellison Road and the eastern boundary of No. 11 Glencairn Road, in a direction from west to east (towards Streatham High Road); and

(b) the length of Hepworth Road which lies between the western side of Rochester Close and the junction of Hepworth Road with Ellison Road, in a direction from east to west (towards Ellison Road).

3. The proposed Order is required as part of the wider Our Streets Streatham South programme of works that aims to deliver a package of environmental and public realm improvements. It aims to reduce rat running traffic in the area by making it less convenient for drivers to use residential roads as a way of avoiding the main roads and thereby improving the amenity of the area.

4. If you have any enquiries, please telephone the Council's Neighbourhoods Team on 07714 777 157 or email: smudalige@lambeth.gov.uk

5. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving detailed particulars about it (including a map) are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at: the offices of Lambeth Council's Highways and Enforcement Group, 5th Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP. To arrange inspection please telephone 020 7926 0209 or e-mail: bpoulter@lambeth.gov.uk.

6. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Order must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to Barbara Poulter, Highways and Enforcement Group, London Borough of Lambeth, 5th Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP, by 12th January 2018. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.
