The Department for Communities has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Pensions (2015 Act) (Pension Protection Fund: Increased Compensation Cap for Long Service) (Pension Compensation Sharing on Divorce) (Transitional Provision) Order (Northern Ireland) 2017” (S.R. 2017 No. 58), which comes into operation on 6 April 2017.

The Rule makes technical transitional provision in relation to pension sharing on divorce etc. so that the transitional arrangements relating to the coming into operation of the increased compensation cap for long service operates in relation to someone who is entitled to compensation as a result of a divorce settlement etc.
