THE A3214 GLA SIDE ROAD (BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD, CITY OF WESTMINSTER) BANNED TURN ORDER 2016

THE A302 GLA ROAD WESTMINSTER BRIDGE (CITY OF WESTMINSTER) PRESCRIBED ROUTE TRAFFIC ORDER 2016

1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to:

(1) remove the City of Westminster controlled paid for parking bay on Bressenden Place adjacent to The Stag public house and replace it with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time);

(2) relocate the solo motor cycle parking bay outside The Stag public house Bressenden Place 2 metres south-eastwards;

(3) remove the loading, unloading and disabled persons’ bay at the northern kerb-line of Victoria Street and replace it with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time);

(4) relocate the loading and unloading bay outside Nos. 205 to 207 Victoria Street to outside Nos. 91 to 99 Buckingham Palace Road reducing its length to 10.5 metres;

(5) reduce the length of the loading and unloading bay outside Nos.6 and 8 Buckingham Palace Road by approximately 1.5 metres;

(6) remove the loading and unloading only bay outside No.181 Victoria Street and replace it with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time);

(7) remove the section of single red line (No Stopping Monday to Saturday 8am to 7pm) at the northern kerb-line of Victoria Street between Bressenden Place and Allington Street and replace it with double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time);

(8) consolidate the double red lines (No Stopping at Any Time) on Buckingham Palace Road between Victoria Street and Bressenden Place to accommodate a new road lay out;

(9) remove the bus lanes on Victoria Street between Bressenden Place and Buckingham Palace Road;

(10) reduce the length of the southbound bus lane on Buckingham Palace Road between Bressenden Place and Victoria Street by 7.5 metres;

(11) Introduce a no left turn restriction from the southbound carriageway of Buckingham Palace Road into Bressenden Place,

(12) prescribe that all vehicles in lane one of the eastbound carriageway A302 Bridge Street turn left at its junction with A3211 Victoria Embankment onto its main northbound carriageway.

(13) prescribe that all vehicles in lane two of the eastbound carriageway A302 Bridge Street proceed straight ahead at its junction with A3211 Victoria Embankment onto A302 Westminster Bridge.

3. The roads which would be affected by the Orders are A302 Victoria Street, A3217 Bressenden Place, A3214 Buckingham Palace Road and A302 Westminster Bridge.

4. A copy of the Orders, a statement of Transport for London’s reasons for the proposals, maps indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of:

5. objections and other representations to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Objections and representations must be sent to Transport for London, Streets Traffic Order Team, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ quoting reference RSM/PI/STOT/TRO, GLA/2016/0079-81&523, to arrive 21st November 2016. Objections and other representations may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
