APPLICATION FOR THE STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAY, UNNAMED FOOTPATH ADJACENT TO VARLEY STREET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Manchester, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester on Wednesday 9th December 2015 at 9.45 am for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping-up of the highway specified in the Schedule hereto on the grounds that it is unnecessary. A plan showing the said highway may be inspected, without payment at my office, Room 601, between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays. Any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may appear before the Court and make objections or representations thereto. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform Liz Treacy, City Solicitor: phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or PO BOX 532, Town Hall Manchester M60 2LA, quoting reference L/GS/EVD5001/1194 before the date of the hearing of their intention to appear.

Footpath to the west of Varley Street starting from a point 60 metres North West of its junction with James Street for a distance of 80.3 metres from the junction with Varley Street in a south-westerly direction for its full width of between 7 metres and 10.7 metres.
