TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 247

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (“the Council”) hereby gives notice that on 9 June 2015 it made an order under Section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 authorising the stopping up of the highway described in the Schedule below. The order authorises the stopping up of the highway in order to enable the development described in the Schedule below to be carried out.

The order and any relevant plans or maps may be inspected free of charge between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Fridays at the Council offices at 37 Pembroke Road, London, W8 6PW or may be obtained by post from the above address quoting reference number SO/13/02.

This order came into force on 9 June 2015 but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in its relation to the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by Section 252 of that Act.

SCHEDULE

The highway proposed to be stopped up

A 16.5m wide, 141m long link connecting Portobello Road to Wornington Road, comprising parking courts, footpaths and a skate park, situated between Lionel House, W10 5RP and Watts House W10 5QG, to the north west and Wheatstone House, W10 5XT and the former Venture Centre site to the south east.

The proposed development

Redevelopment of Wornington Green Estate to provided new residential accommodation with associated highway network, park and community facilities.
