CORRIDOR 1D STUDY - PROPOSED RELOCATION OF PEDSTRIAN CROSSING IN UXBRIDGE ROAD W13 AND BANNED RIGHT TURNS INTO AND OUT OF CHAPEL ROAD

THE EALING (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (AMENDMENT NO. **) ORDER 201*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Ealing Council, propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.

2. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order would be to ban the right turns (a) from Uxbridge Road W13 into Chapel Road and (b) from Chapel Road into Uxbridge Road W13. The banned turns would not apply to pedal cyclists.

3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to amend existing waiting restrictions and existing loading and unloading restrictions in Uxbridge Road W13 so that they would apply during the times specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

4. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under the powers of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, propose to remove the puffin pedestrian crossing facility in Uxbridge Road near the post office and replace it with a signal controlled pedestrian crossing with countdown which would be situated 17 metres east (near the junction with Broughton Road).The controlled area for no stopping or overtaking would extend 15.5 metres either side of the stop lines of the crossing.

5. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under the powers of section 90c of the Highways Act 1980 propose to install an entry treatment in St Leonards Road at its junction with Uxbridge Road. This would be situated at the north-western kerb-line on a raised table approximately 75mm in height and 7.1 metres in length including 2 ramps of 1.5 metre each.

7. The proposed Orders, other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, the crossing amendments and the entry treatment including plans, are available by e-mail from Highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk or by inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.

8. Any objections or other representations about any of the proposed Orders or the crossing amendments and the entry treatment should be sent in writing by e-mail to Highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk or by post to Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 3918 until the 14th August 2015. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
