THE A616 TRUNK ROAD (WESTWOOD ROUNDABOUT) (50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A616 Trunk Road in the District of Barnsley.

The effect of this Order, if made, would be to impose a 50mph speed limit on the A616 Trunk Road from its junction with the A61/A616 Westwood Roundabout eastwards for a distance of 200 metres and westwards for a distance of 330 metres.

A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make this Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, The Hoyland Centre, High Croft, Hoyland, Barnsley S74 9AF or may be seen at or obtained by application from the office of the Director, Network Delivery and Development (Yorkshire & North East), The Highways Agency, 3rd Floor South, Lateral, 8 City Walk, Leeds, LS11 9AT.

Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director at the above address. The objection should quote the above title and must be received not later than Friday 30 January 2015. Information provided in response to this consultation, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information regimes (these are primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004).
