The Cartwright & Lewis Staff Pension Scheme (the “Scheme”) was established with effect from 1 June 1989. HR Trustees Limited are the current trustee of the Scheme.

The Scheme was initially named Cartwright & Lewis Vernon & Shakespeare Staff Pension Scheme and was renamed the Cartwright & Lewis Staff Pension Scheme on 31 March 1990. Cartwright & Lewis Limited was a participating employer in the Scheme and merged with Challinors Solicitors on 1 April 2006. The Scheme was closed on 31 March 2006.

The Trustee has corresponded by post with all known members of the Scheme and the scheme is currently being assessed by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF). Accordingly, it is of vital importance that any person having a claim against or an interest in the Scheme and who has not received correspondence from the Trustee should make themselves known to the Trustee. You may have a claim against or an interest in the Scheme if you were employed by Cartwright & Lewis Limited or Cartwright & Lewis Vernon & Shakespeare Limited, even if only on a part-time basis.

Particulars of any claim should be set out in writing and sent to the contact noted below on or before 16 July 2014. If you fail to do so, the Trustee will provide data to the PPF having regard only to claims and interests of which it has been given notice.

Notification is not required from individuals who are currently in receipt of a pension from the Scheme, who have transferred their Scheme entitlement to another pension scheme or arrangement or who are receiving correspondence relating to the Scheme from the Trustee.
