HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 116

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday the 19th day of May 2008 at 10.00am Essex County Council as the highway authority shall make an application for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 at the Essex Magistrates’ Court sitting at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, Shire Hall, Tindal Square, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1RA.

The proposed Order provides for the stopping up of highway rights over an area of highway comprising 234 (Two Hundred and Thirty Four) square metres or thereabouts adjacent to the property known as School Green Farm at School Green in Blackmore End in the Parish of Wethersfield in the District of Braintree in the County of Essex as shown shaded yellow on the plan number 83/2/173/1 on the ground that the area of highway is unnecessary.

The plan showing the area of highway to be stopped up is deposited at the Chelmsford Public Library at Market Road, Chelmsford and at Braintree District Council, Causeway House, Braintree, Essex CM7 9HB where it may be inspected free of charge during normal opening hours.

On the hearing of the application any person to whom notice has been given, any person who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for will have the right to be heard.
