HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116 AND SCHEDULE 12

NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO STOP UP A HIGHWAY AUGHTON ROAD, SOUTHPORT

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, the Highway Authority for the highway hereinafter mentioned intend to apply to the North Sefton Magistrates’ Court sitting at The Law Courts, Albert Road, Southport on the 17 January 2007, at 9.45 am, for an Order authorising the stopping-up of the below listed highway on the grounds that, it is unnecessary.
An area of highway of approximately 128 square metres being a section of the footway at the southern corner of the junction of Aughton Road and York Road, Southport.
The area of highway to be stopped up is shown hatched black on the plan (Ref TSU/DC/TC/2003/04-1) deposited at the offices of the Legal Director, Town Hall, Lord Street, Southport, Merseyside, (Ref CLB), where it may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours.
Any person wishing to object to the proposals or make representations about them may appear at North Sefton Magistrates’ Court on 17 January 2007 at 9.45 am.
