NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie of Hawsells Farm of Sizewell Estate is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from underground strata (sand, gravel and crag) at National Grid Refs TM 4558 6173 and TM 4643 6158 at Hawsells Farm and Square Covert. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 72 cubic metres per hour, 1,728 cubic metres per day, 57,000 cubic metres per year, between 1 April and 31 October each year. The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation. This application is to replace a quantity previously authorised under licence 7/35/03/*G/0088. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Hawsells Farm, Sizewell Estate, Leiston, between 22 February 2006 and 21 March 2006. Any person who wishes to make representation about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Iceni House, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JD, before the end of the said period.
