SECTION 116, HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER STOPPING-UP HIGHWAY AT TALBOT GREEN, NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intends
to apply to the Magistrates’ Court under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, for
an Order stopping-up the following area of highway on the grounds that they are unnecessary.
1. An irregular area of highway more particularly delineated on the drawing No TM.T1.002
(“The Plan”) which is bordered by the points A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H. Point A being
located 26.5 metres east and 20 metres north of the north-eastern corner of No 13
Stoneylea Road. The area is 70 metres long and varies in width between 6 metres and
14.5 metres throughout.
2. The application is to be heard on Tuesday 28 February 2006, at 2.15 pm, in Gosforth
Magistrates’ Court, Newcastle upon Tyne.
3. The effect of the Order sought will be to prevent all traffic over the land shown
on the Order map which may be inspected, free of charge, at the Customer Service Centre,
Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays.
