NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Shepley Spring Ltd, of The Knowle, Shepley, Huddersfield HD8 8EA is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from 2 boreholes in the coal measures between National Grid Refs SE 2000 0909 and SE 2002 0955 at The Knowle, Shepley, Huddersfield. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 14 cubic metres per hour, 168 cubic metres per day, and 61,320 cubic metres per year from each borehole. The water will be used for commercial bottling. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Shepley Spring Ltd, The Knowle, Huddersfield between 18 September 2003 and 23 October 2003. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG before the end of the said period.
