THE LEWISHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. ) TRAFFIC ORDER 1999
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lewisham propose
to make the Traffic Order referred to above in accordance with the provisions of section
6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
2. The general nature and effect of the Order would be to revoke that part of the
London Traffic (Prescribed Routes) (Deptford) (No. 2) Regulations 1962 referring to
one-way traffic operation in Tanner’s Hill and re-enact those provisions with further,
to:
(a) retain the existing elements of one-way traffic operation in Tanner’s Hill; and
(b) introduce one-way traffic operation, northeastbound, in the remaining southern
arm of Tanner’s Hill, prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding in Tanner’s Hill in
any other than a general northerly direction from its junction with Lewisham Way to
that with New Cross Road (the pedestrianised eastern arm of Tanner’s Hill to remain
one-way southwestbound, away from Deptford Broadway, for access).
3. The restrictions referred to above would not apply to fire authority, ambulance
or police vehicles in an emergency or to anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform.
4. A copy of the draft of the Order and of plans giving more detailed particulars
of the measures and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing the Order
can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the offices of

5. Any objection or other representation relating to the Order must be made in writing
and any objection must specify the grounds on which it is made. Any such objection
or representation must be sent to Lewisham Design Services, quoting Ref. Tanners/P.
Sear, Laurence House, 2nd Floor, 1 Catford Road, London SE6 4RU, to arrive not later
than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice. Any objection may be communicated
to other persons who may be affected.
