LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.185) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on the 19th May 2022 the above-mentioned Order “the Order” under Sections 6 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The general effect of the free Order will be to make permanent the provisions of The Barnet (Free Parking Places, Loading Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.130) (Experimental) Order 2021.

The Experimental Order, which came into operation on Monday 22nd February 2021, introduced on an experimental basis, lengths of new ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions in order to deter obstructive parking, improve traffic flow and improve sightlines at the following locations below:

Falkland Road/Alston Road EN5

1) At the junction of Falkland Road and Alston Road (by upgrading the existing Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm waiting restrictions)

2) Between Nos. 11 and 17 Falkland Road (by upgrading the existing Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm waiting restrictions)

3) Between Nos. 35 and 43 Falkland Road (by upgrading the existing Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm waiting restrictions)

4) Between Nos. 10 and 12 Falkland Road (by upgrading the existing Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm waiting restrictions)

5) Between Nos. 30 and a point opposite the Alston Works site (by upgrading the existing Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm waiting restrictions)

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on Thursday 26th May 2022 and the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Order can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 6th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
