SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL (D148/4 SAMIESTON/UPPER SAMIESTON) (STOPPING UP) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Scottish Borders Council proposes to make an Order under Section 68(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 stopping up that length of road described in the Schedule below.
The title of the order is the “Scottish Borders Council (D148/4 Samieston/Upper Samieston) (Stopping Up) Order 2017”.
A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the length of road to be stopped up together with a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Order have been deposited with the Roads Planning Service, Regulatory Services, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St. Boswells. These documents are available for inspection free of charge from 8.45 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Monday to Thursday and 8.45 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. on Friday and are also available for inspection at the Library Contact Centre, Castlegate, Jedburgh TD8 6AS, during normal opening hours.
Any person may, by 29 September 2017, object to the making of the Order by notice in writing to the Chief Legal Officer, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St. Boswells, Melrose, TD6 0SA. Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.

ROAD TO BE STOPPED UP
That section of the D148/4 Samieston Road from its junction with the C40 – Jedburgh Cessford Otterburn road – in a generally southerly direction via Samieston Farm for a distance of approximately 775 metres or thereby, to its junction with the track approximately 50 metres or thereby north of Samieston Cottage.
