  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) propose to make the Enfield (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (No. *) Traffic Order 201* and the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 201* under Legislation section: sections 6, Legislation section: 84(1), Legislation section: 84(2) and Legislation section: 124 of and Legislation section: Part IV of Legislation section: Schedule 9 to the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 .
  • 2 The general effect of the Orders would be to:
    • a introduce a 20 mph speed limit for motor vehicles in the streets and part of street specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
    • b introduce new “at any time” waiting restrictions in parts of the streets specified in the last paragraph of the heading to this Notice, which are mainly at the junctions of those streets.
  • 3 FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to control the speed of traffic, the Council propose to construct under sections 90A to 90I of the Legislation: Highways Act 1980
    • a flat top speed tables which would be constructed at the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
    • b raised junction which would be constructed level with the adjacent kerbs, between distances of 4 and 7 metres from the junction and cover the full width of the roads at the location specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice;
    • c speed cushions of flat top design would be constructed two-abreast at the location specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice and would not be more than 75 millimetres at their highest point; and
    • d speed cushions of flat top design would be constructed three-abreast at the locations specified in Schedule 5 to this Notice and would not be more than 75 millimetres at their highest point.
  • 4 A copy of each of the proposed Orders, of a map indicating the locations and effects of the proposed Orders of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and any other relevant documents can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
  • 5 Any person desiring to object to the proposed Orders, or make any other representations in respect of them should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Transportation Services, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD, quoting the reference LB/TG52/1127, by 14th September 2011 .
  • 6 Under the Legislation: Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may, upon written request, be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
