KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (FASTRACK PHASE 1 MAJOR SCHEME, DARTFORD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2005

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Kent County Council has made an Order under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to revoke a 24 hour main carriageway clearway, prohibit waiting at any time, prohibit waiting between 7.00 am to 7.00 pm, implement a 24 hour main carriageway clearway, prohibit loading and unloading between 7.00 am to 10.00 am and 4.00 pm to 7.00pm on the lengths of roads described in the Schedules hereto. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to enable a vehicle to wait with police permission or for passengers to board or alight, for the loading and unloading of goods, for enabling work to be carried out in or adjacent to the road, for disabled persons and for emergency vehicles. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 7th November 2005, an explanatory statement and maps showing the lengths of road concerned, may be inspected during normal office hours at the Kent County Council, Highway Definition Team, Directorate of Strategic Planning, Invicta House, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XX. Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this notice, challenge the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Order. Schedule 1 (Revocation of 24 hour Main Carriageway Clearway) Princes Road (A296), Dartford, (excluding service roads and lay-bys) from a point 30 metres east of its junction with Oakwood Close to its junction with Watling Street. Schedule 2 (No Waiting At Any Time) Princes Road (A296), (Dual Carriageway section), Dartford Eastbound carriageway, north side, from a point 167 metres east of the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards for a distance of 48 metres. Eastbound carriageway, north side, from a point 260 metres east of the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards for a distance of 22 metres. Eastbound carriageway, south side, from the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards for a distance of 150 metres. Westbound carriageway, north side, from the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards to a point opposite the centre line of Salisbury Road. Westbound carriageway, south side, from the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards for a distance of 45 metres. Westbound carriageway, south side, from a point 80 metres east of the east side of its roundabout junction with the A282 Interchange eastwards for a distance of 105 metres. Princes Road (A296), Dartford Eastbound carriageway, north side, from a point 5 metres east of the common boundary of numbers 580 and 582 Princes Road eastwards to its junction with Watling Street. Westbound carriageway, south side, from the common boundary of numbers 632 and 634 Princes Road eastwards to its junction with Watling Street. Central reserve located opposite the centre line of Dovedale Road, the whole length and width. Unnamed Access Road, (to the Vicarage), Dartford From its junction with East Hill and Home Gardens, both sides, the whole length.
